The first Dirt Don’t Burn discussion was held in 2018 at the historic Douglass HS Building on how the Edwin Washington Project was studying the impact of segregation in Loudoun County.  The second event, held in December 2023, also at Douglass, announced the publication by Georgetown University Press of Dirt Don’t Burn. The book summarizes ten years of research on how segregated education impacted the Black community of Loudoun County and their struggle for equality within the context of events in Virginia, the rest of the nation, and the globe.
