Scholarship Requirements
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be direct or lineal descendant: children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc. of alumni who attended the Loudoun Training School and/or Douglass High School.
- Collateral descendants are not part of the direct line (i.e. aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, etc.)
- Either the applicant or the ancestor must be a dues-current member of the organization at the time of submittal.
- 2.5 or higher-Grade Point Average (GPA).
At a minimum, all applicants must be a high school student expecting to graduate this spring,
high school graduate, hold a GED certificate or be a returning student.
- Enrolled or planning to enroll in college, university, vocational/technical school, or certificate program.

Before the application can be processed, the applicant must complete online application no later than Saturday, May 01, 2021, which includes:Â
- Completed online application with signature.
The applicant must sign the Declaration. - Transcripts – IMPORTANT
Transcripts must include high school or college name on it. If these transcripts do not have the high school or college name on it, the transcript will NOT be accepted.- College Transcripts – for college students
- High School Transcripts – for graduating high school Student
- College Acceptance Letter – for graduating high school student from prospective institution.
- One Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, school counselor, principal, civic leader/community leader, pastor, priest, current or former supervisor/employer.
Applicants seeking a vocational/trade education or certification course scholarship need to submit transcripts or letter of acceptance.
Please submit online application NO LATER THAN MAY 01, 2021, NO EXCEPTIONS.Â

- Confirmation
A confirmation email will be sent within five (5) CALENDAR days from receipt.
- Committee Review
All applications will be validated and scored by the LDAA Scholarship Committee.
- Applicant Notification
All applicants will receive a decision via email by – June 15, 2021.
- Award Recipient Requirement
The scholarship recipient must submit via email (ldaascholarship@ldaa1941.com) their Student ID number, address of institution, and the institution’s guidelines for accepting outside scholarships, if applicable.  The applicant has (7) CALENDAR days from the date of the notification letter to respond to the request for information. If required information in not received, you risk forfeiting the scholarship award.
- LDAA Cookout
The recipients or their representative are expected to attend to the LDAA Cookout at Douglass High School on Saturday July 10th.
- Receiving Funds
All scholarship awards will be -disbursed to the selected institution/school on August 1, 2021. Recipients will receive a copy of the letter sent to the institution/school.

Transcripts must have a high school or college/university for verification.
Returning College Students do not submit high school transcripts or college letter of acceptance.
Submit your application online and include a transcript, letter of acceptance, and letter of recommendation.

Scholarship Application
